The group exhibition TOP 12 shows the most current works of 28 ‘Meisterschüler’ (masterclass students) of Staatliche Akademie der Bildenden Künste Karlsruhe at the Städtische Galerie Karlsruhe from 7 July to 7 October 2012.
The appointment as ‘Meisterschüler’ is a personal award given to selected graduates of the Academy by their professor, and includes a studio and support for another year at the academy. At the end of that year, the ‘Meisterschüler’ exhibitions—funded by the Ministry of Science, Research and Art—take place in one of the different prestigious art institutions of the state of Baden-Württemberg. The diversity of the works encompass all contemporary forms of expression in the fields of painting, sculpture, drawing and graphics, video art and performance.
The exhibition is curated by Prof. Ernst Caramelle and includes following artists:
Selma Alaçam, Josef Bartz, Katja Colling, Thomas Dawidowski, Alex Feuerstein, Jonas Fleckenstein, Jörg Gelbke, Simon Häske, Chan-Joo Hwang, Ross Jago, Beate Körner, Zora Kreuzer, Max Leiß, Rebekka Löffler, Kai Mailänder, Carolin Mayer-Eming, Tomomi Morishima, Natalie Obert, Felix Oehmann, Andreas von Ow, Swjatoslav Palamartschuk, Ulrich Paquet, Uta Pütz, Nelly Rempel, Jens Stickel, Tobias Talbot, Johannah Vogt und Hanna Woll.
